I have a 88 force 50 hp(15 ft bayliner capri open bow) and have had it out 4 times now. I have been trolling for the most part. The question I have, is it normal for there to be fuel/oil mix coming from the barrel of the carb? I am not sure how much has been coming out, but the inside of the carb barrel looks like it has been running out the end of the carb and there is some on the bottom of the fuel bowl. I am not sure if it is leaking or if it is normal? The boat gets up to 30 mph at 5200rpm but like I said I trolled for about 95% of the time. I have gone through (4) 6 gallon tanks and have averaged 1 gallon per hour. Does 1 gallon per hour sound about right for trolling with this boat and motor?

Yup some gas comming out the front is normal.
Economy sounds good.
Ethanol is messing with older motors.
Change to newer lines and remove any inline connectors and rebuild your fuel pump(just to be safe).
Install a small filter between the carb and the pump.J

That makes me feel better. I will install another filter, I already changed the lines and connectors. Also I use marine stable with all fill ups and first 2 tanks I used sea foam in the gas. I notice that the ball does not pump up real hard, maybe a fuel pump kit will fix that. I have always squeezed the pump ball till firm but this one does not seem to get firm, but seems to do it's job.
