1988 johnson 100hp lower unit

dropping the lower unit on 1988 100hp Johnson GT. Where do I disconnect the mechanical shift? Thanks

Have someone move the shifter back and forth while you look under the carbs down by the lower cowling.
It will be a screw or a pin that connects to the shift rod.
Not sure exactly what one on that year.
