I had the exact same problem with my 1984 evinrude 150.I tried everything you are trying and finally gave up and put it in the shop.They checked the compression.It was great.They cleaned the carbs and replaced the plugs.They even replaced a bad powerpack but it still had the same problem.Finally they replaced the stator and it works fine now.It all cost me about$1000.

Didn't anyone notice waaay back in his postings that he said that he used TORCH TIP CLEANERS throughout when cleaning his carbs?

Ya think he may have an idle mixture problem????????

Like too much idle air, barely runs on the hose but won't fire with ANY back pressure.

Try replacing ALL carb jets with NEW ones. And don't poke anything in there smaller than your elbow!
