Sounds good to me if it has a sufficient warranty. You can check this site for the price of fresh rebuilds and my guess is they will run you $2,2-2,500.00. You still would have a bunch of work to do with a rebuild. Even with a warranty I would do a compression check. I have a pair of 1988 SeaDrives which my insurance company values at around $950.00 ea. I don't consider that a good guide for a fair purchase price though. <br /><br />What do you mean when you say that you blew your old one? There are some very sharp folks here ready to help. I have seen some posts where the owner thought his motor was only good for an anchor and with a bit of help was able to fix the problem.
