Hello all..not sure if this is the right spot for this question.....
I just picked up a 16 foot k&c with a 1988 johnson 60 ...my question is does anyone have any experience using this motor for trolling as well as my main?
The way the transom is set up on this boat and where i would have to mount a trolling motor bracket would mean that the tiller handle will be around 6" out side the side of the boat....kind of a pain.....i haven't had it on the water yet to gps speed test it, so i'm curious if it will work or not...bad for the motor?...will it still charge the battery at low rpms?......
Thanks in advance...

Hi yes it should still charge the battery, it wont have a large output but it will keep putting juice into it. If you buy a $10 multimeter you can put the leads on to the battery and see what it does.
I cant imagine that itl be bad for the motor, just make sure that your impeller is good as these motors generally let much more water in at higher rpm so low rpm can lead to an overheat if things like impeller and thermostat are not in good shape
