1988 larson boat 4.3L with omc drive but which engine?

hey guys new here, i just got a 88 larson 18 foot with a 4.3 inboard. it has a omc drive, what make is the engine? there is no stickers that i could see. the guy says it is like the chevy engine but who makes it? omc? volvo? is there a casting somwhere that will tell me?

The base engine is a GM marine/industial engine they build the long block the rest is added on by the end user (OMC, Mercruiser, Volvo) ie manifolds, carbs and etc. If your outdrive is OMC then most likely the engine is too.

And base engine is a Chevy design-basically 3/4 of a 350 small-block

Yep,Just a marinized 4.3 GM truck motor...A little different cam and brass core plugs with all the marine externals hung on it.
