dads got a 25 hp that is been having on and off consistent problems. Sometimes when we take it out, it will just run way bogged down at full throttle. On those days, sometimes it will kick in and run at full force...sometimes not. The motor doesnt sound rough or idle bad, the problem is just a full throttle. Now, we havent rebuilt the carb, so that could easily be the problem. I did notice today though, that when we got back, around the outside of the top cylinder around the spark plug was wet with gas / oil. Then I proceeded to unscrew the spark plug by hand. Could him not tightening down the plug be the problem? Obviously there would be alot less compression, right? Does this seem like the factors that would lead to this problem?
