I hit a rock directly on the front keel of my fiberglass boat this week at about 5 mph! The damage area is not large, 2" wide x 5" long, but it leaks. I have the boat tipped up to dry out the damaged spot.10 years ago when I purchased this boat the floor was rotten. The foam was water saturated so I removed floor and foam and did some structural repairs. I removed all the foam except from the front in the cabin where the seats and floor were ok. The damaged area is now below that area and below the waterline.
Should I check for structural damage on the keel below the floor in the cabin, or do the repair to the fiberglass externally?
