Yeah that's not so bad. Over in the tin looney bin we all pretty much do the same procedure for this issue.

Clean the skin very well and get all the corrosion off. Cleaning vinegar wash helps with the process with it's acid.
Fill the pitting with either JB weld or Marine Tex and be sure to skin it on there with something like a bondo spreader, saves on sanding.

I then will prime the inner skin with self etching primer, regular primer and give it 2 coats of paint. While your at it you can fill some holes you don't want too.

Other have had such bad pitting with pinholes all over that they've put a new skin on the outside.
