I think it rules out the solenoid, but did you jump both leads directly to the
starter, or just the hot lead? You could have a high resistance connection
in the ground lead to the block. Check that by jumping directly from the
battery neg terminal to the block, then jumping hot directly to the starter.
If you turn the flywheel by hand, do you get the normal easy/hard, easy/hard
feel from compression, or is the flywheel real hard to turn?
