hello my name is rev.sean iam looking at buying this 1988 imperial boat with twin aq171c's and its not running iam a newbe to boating will the boat be alot of $ to get back in shape? owner states boat has not ran for two seasons since someone tried to upgrade the twins please help dont have much money and i can get the boat for under a grand no trailer is this going to get me in over my head?

In general, rebuilding a boat costs a lot of money, and takes all your time.....

yes it will cost a lot, even if you do it all yourself, and yes from the post I think you are over your head.

There is a long string in the Restoration section about a guy redoing a 30' larson. He doesnt give numbers, but with professional help, a heated huge shop, and enormous talent he probably has spent $20 grand.

Even at a super minimum, it would cost a couple grand to do a minor rebuild on those motors, assuming nothing else is wrong with the boat.
