So I got my tps sensor all set.
I did the carbs a heavy duty cleaning and I am still bogging out. I cant put it in gear with out stalling on the water, unless I set the idle to about 1200. then it goes in to gear and will idle around 800 longer enough for me to jam on it to get on plane. Then it runs, bogs dies.

I have replace the fuel filter and rebuilt carbs I will post a pic of my carbs and my plugs tonight .What else besides carbs will cause a bog?

yesterday I got it to run up to 4800 at wot but then backed it down because that was way to low for WOT.

I know the gas is good because I fished for an hour on my kicker a 15hp mariner doing 7 mph.

Any help is appreciated, may I just don;t know how to do carbs. I have done 30 or 40 of them in my life. Never with this trouble.

I am ordering new carb gaskets today. I will have pics tonight of my carbs and plugs................FML kingfish are runnin and I am not

I have no fixes for you but would like to let you know you are not the only one with an issue like this.. My 96' 115 Saltwater series would run at 5500 rpm all day for 14 years now this weekend she runs at 4400 max now power at all...

confused..

Tomorrow I will tear into the carbs looking for water / gunk, although I normally clean them once a year just to be nice so I doubt this is an issue.. will also do a carbon clean on the powerhead with the yamaha power cleaner stuff. and a general look over for any issues... throttle cable problems, plugs, filters, etc...

Perhaps we can figure this out at the same time..

here are pics of the plugs all six look like this. I was thinking it may be a spark problem till I saw this. They are all tan to black non of them were wet or clean. My spark tester also showed bright blue arc from 3/8ths to 7/16th of an inch.

There must be some trick I am missing to the carbs. Also, when it was on the lake today. I would spray carb cleaner in to the carb while it was idleing ( I say idleing but I mean at about 1200) and on carb 1 & 3 it would not effect performance. But, on carb 2 spraying carb cleaner in the carb would kill the engine.

I went thru them carbs and all was well except three of the six idle air jets were gummed and and two of the idle passages had very very small items in them. The gaskets were stringy so I replaced them. I fired it up and started immediatly. So, I will put it in the drink and see if it is a beast of a different color tommorrow.

it definitely sounds like a fuel issue. did you use carb cleaner and blow out every passageway with compressed air? it doesn't take much of a restriction and they don't run right.

I did use carb cleaner to soak the parts, then used compressed air to blow out the passages. We will see

I had a similar problem. Did the carbs 3 times. Little piece of junk that I never quite got out. It would run fine for a bit and then that junk would plug the passageway again. I just wasn't thorough enough the first two times. There are some very narrow passages in Yammie carbs.
If you are still having trouble try to isolate the trouble by pulling plugs wires one at a time at 1200 RPM. If you have one bad cylinder (no drop in rpm) then it could be a fouled plug, plug wire or coil. I've had all three on differnet Yamaha's over the years.
