I have 1989 Tracker Pro-17 w/40Hp Johnson, I've owned it for 21 yrs. no problems, except I wished it had more power my sons are fully grown (16 yr old 240lbs) when him & I are together its a load. Engine trimed up i reach 4500 RPM's, Just wish i could afford a 60hp outboard (max hp for boat), hey I'm not loaded. I've looked at 50hp motor, it appears to be the same on outside, but I realize reeds, jets in carbs are different, But a 50 has the same bore & stroke, so what could I do to improve my 40?
