Solinoid with the little red lever could be bad and pulling fuel when it's not supposed too.

Stumpalump - I did check the solenoid and think it's okay. Pulled hoses (had engine running) and gas didn't spurt out til I pushed key in , let key out, it stopped.
Thanks

Could be leaking internally. Cracked ones cause fits. Plug the fuel line too it.

Thanks Fed. Been out of town a couple and weeks and finally got a chance to tear it down some more. Took the lower unit off cuz I had to order and replace the o ring and propeller shaft seal which was leaking gear oil, and sure enough there was oil leaking down the inner exhaust housing. So I pulled the power head to check the lower crankshaft seal and there was no leak there. Seal is fine. I checked the one under flywheel a while back and its fine. But there looks like a hole in the exhaust port inside the block. I've attached pics. Is that normal? It's leaking oil pretty bad around the bolt there and power head gasket. I rebuilt this motor almost 2 years ago and never noticed it before. Looks like it was drilled out and re tapped . There was a spring insert in there.?
Thanks

The "spring insert" was most likely a "heli-coil". It's a previous repair or even used in oem manufacturing by some.
