1989 50 hp johnson prop spinning freely

I am new to boating and have a johnson 50hp. The prop is spinning freely. Does this motor have a shear pin? If so how hard is it to replace.

No shear pin. Perhaps the shift mechanism is out of adjustment or broken or un hooked.
Otherwise could be expensive.
