1989 70 HP manual primer pump

When pushing in the key to choke the engine, gas squirts out around the red manual primer pump on the right side of the engine. I replaced the o-ring, but the red pump shaft may be cracked. (ordered).<br />The engine drops the top cyclinder sometimes (checked by pulling plug wires). Can this be related? Also, what is the schrader air type fitting for on the end of the red shaft?<br />Mike S

When the engine drops a cylinder does it lose spark? If not, you probably have a carburetion problem. Thanks for the reply DJ.<br />Good spark at top cylinder; I saw long blue spark until it used me for the ground. <br />The problem is intermittent, so it could be loosing spark while running, but OK when I test it.<br />The engine sat for about 2 yrs, but was run occassionally in the yard with a hose. Starts easily, has lots of power.<br />Water in the float bowl? Any way to drain it?<br />I have a lot of experience working on outboards, mostly older and smaller ones.
