Recently purchased a 1989 70hp Yamaha that the trim/tilt was not working on. The previous owner had been raising the motor by hand for the last part of the fishing season. The motor was in the raised position with the stops locked. I filled the reservoir with AT fluid. The bottom rams are all of the way in and obviously the center ram is all of the way extended. I have opened and closed the bleed screw and tried to raise and lower the motor but nothing happens. I have checked the fluid level and it is full and there is not any foam in the fluid. Is there something I am missing? I plan on doing a rebuild on the unit but was hoping I could determine where the oil was leaking from before tearing it down.
