Good to see you back on the forum.

As always, I'm partial to Rustoleum. Self Etching primer after a good acid wash and it should adhere very well. Still susceptible to chips and scratches.

Re: 1989 Cheetah 210es restore - not looking forward to this

finally went and worked on the boat today since we had amazing weather for a change so i was motivated to do something

put on the ol monkey suit that i haven't worn in a while to finish up grinding a few cracks out of the bottom to glass

then i started to fair out some of the stuff I've already repaired towards the bow its not nearly done but getting there slowly, fairing compound is so much easier to sand than gelcoat

after getting back to work on it I am officially tired of working on this boat, if anyone may be interested in it as it is with everything i have included shoot me some offers, the longblock has 0 hours, if no one has interest i will probably part it out and sell the trailer after the hull gets scraped or sold really cheap

That would be a huge shame. It's such a cool looking boat. After all that work, you gotta enjoy it a little!

If I were closer, I'd come help out just to see it finished!

But... Good luck with whatever you end up doing with it.

yea i hate to spend all the time and money i have but this thing has mentally and physically drained me and the bank account, so its time to move on and sell a couple other things and buy a boat that doesn't need anything except a new owner

Man, I hope you find that proverbial pot 'o gold, but if you are looking for a fiberglass boat that is anything other than brand new, or close to it...you may end up in the same "boat"
You might have better luck looking for an aluminum boat that needs restoration, the cost, time and effort are going to be much less than a 'glass one...
Much Luck!

A buddy actually has a boat that im trying to save up for, but im definitely not against a brand new boat. those Yamaha jet boats have been in my mind for years

its not that i don't want to, i have things in my future that are a lot more important than spending all my spare time on this boat, but id rather not share that on here

Re: 1989 Cheetah 210es restore - not looking forward to this

Well at least you have the restoration up to this point documented here on the forum, so when you go to seel it you can refer any buyers here to see the amount of work and materials you have put into it...
Also, if in the end you can't get what you have in it, including your labor, have you thought about shrink wrapping it and saving it for a future project...?...yeah, I know crazy talk...:bolt:
Hey man, best of luck selling it or parting it out, and be sure to NOT leave us hanging when you buy that shiny new boat and at least post up a couple of pics of it...

well today we went and looked at the new yamahas that i have always liked and pulled the trigger, we got approved and put down a deposit on a 2013 yamaha ar210 that should be in next month as they have been sold out as soon as they get them.

this is exactly what it looks like

and here is my wife in front of the 3ft longer version of what we ordered

yay no wood in the entire boat
