The motor starts and idles fine. Runs good up to about 3000 rpm's then wants to stop running. Let out of the gas and it will idle down, give it gas again it will go then lose power again, as if it were having a fuel pickup issue. Changed fuel filter and new plugs did not help. Any Ideas????????

Here's a few things to try which could help diagnose the problem:

(1)After the engine hits 3000rpm and then bogs down, have someone pump the primer bulb repeatedly. Does performance improve?

(2) When the engine bogs down, depress the choke button. Does performance improve?

(3) Hook up an auxillary tank directly to your fuel pump. Does performance improve?

Let us know.

Likely that the engine is consuming more fuel than the pump can replace in the carb bowls. Could be a weak fuel pump or fuel restriction, like a bad fuel hose bulb or clogged anti-siphon valve.
