Any ideas? I have just got everything working and the motor is running great but is not charging. What all components make up the charging system? What else can I check? Thanks for all the previous help.

Check the stator coil for continuity. I think you have the three wire type.
If so you should measure a low resistance between all the wires but see double between the yellow and yellow/blue than you get between yellow/gray and either of the other two. (wiring all disconnected of course)

Provided you only have the the round unregulated rectifier you can test that.

Using a digital multimeter set to the diode test range. Measure between the red wire and each of the yellow wires. Reverse the meter leads and repeat. One way round you should get all high readings (infinity) and the other much lower readings.

Now repeat between the metal case and the yellows. You should get similar results to those above.

(You can also check between the red and the case. You should get infinity one way and a low reading the other.
If you test between any of the yellow wires you should get infinity.)
