1989 force 125 problem

hi there i have a 89 force 125 that i just got with my 21 foot bayliner and i have a problem after running for a hour or more it seems to lose power and die right down to just a craw <br />whats the problem?<br />is it plugs?<br />carbs?<br />what<br />i just got the boat and havent did anything to it yet.<br />what type of all arround plugs do i need for crusing between half and full speed?<br />there is a ngk bu8h in there now.<br />is there anything else i need to look for about this motor?<br />thanks mike warford<br /><br /><br />------------------<br />mike

I ALSO WOULD CHECK THAT ALL CYLINDERS ARE FIRING,IF ONE OR MORE ARE NOT FIREING THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO CHECK THE SWITCHBOX @STATOR THESE FORCE EAT STATOR @ SWITCHBOXES.I KNOW HAVE 1994 120HP. ALL READY WENT THREW 3 STATORS @ SWITCHBOXES

Hi, My55. Sounds like overheating from a failing water pump. Replace the impeller. It may not be the problem, but it should be done regularly anyway. Other possibilities are a poorly vented fuel tank or obstruction in the fuel lines.<br /><br />Red sky.<br />JB

check compression and plugs could be carbon build up fuel line filter carbon build up can be cured
