1989 force 125 volts

I was running the outboard this weekend and notice the volts gauge was reading about 16 volts at full throttle.At idle speed it was about 13-14 volts.It has a brand new Die hard marine battery in it.Is this normal?It seen to run fine.

Yep! They don't have a voltage regulator--didn't put them in until later years. Keep an eye on you battery water level if you cruise a lot.
