1989 Force water pipe question

Does anyone know what the water pipe in an 1989 50 HP Force outboard should be made out of?<br />Model 507Y8D<br />The one i have is made from real soft copper. I would think that it should be made from harder copper or stainless. Any help would be appreciated.<br />Thanks Drudin

Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />It's copper and it's pretty soft. Once things are put together, there isn't much stress or wear on them. So they don't really have to be terribly strong. And stainless costs more.
