Yesterday I was installing my transom saver, I must have put too much pressure down. I raised it up to relieve some pressure and when I pressed the down button, nothing happened, no movement or sound. I tried all three switches. It will move upward fine. I think I must have blown a fuse or thrown a breaker somewhere? Any Ideas?

most likely its a bad relay. they should be under $20.

check all your wire connections for corrosion and check what little wire you amy be able to see to make sure its still a nice copper color.........if it looks burnt you need to run some resistance checks on the wires themselves, and make sure your battery is fully charged.

you can also switch the relays and see if it goes down and not up............. that would make things quicker.

Would the relay be on or around the motor. I seen some spare relays in the glove box. I just bought this boat and have looked her over pretty good and seen no relays. I haven't even seen a fuse box.

im not familiar with your boat.................. but you should have a box in the bilge area.

if all else fails follow the wires from tilt/trim motor to relays.............. i have seen some set-ups with them just bolted to a piece of wood.

you can go to http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=9c60db3eafc1f4b20ccd2da688b6ec1c and see the exploded parts diagrams.............. it wont tell you where its at in the boat but it will give you an idea what to look for.

I found it. I pulled the engine cowl and followed wires from the tilt cyl's. there is a plastic box mounted to the side of the block that has two relays in it. BONUS!!! Both of the relays in the glove box were good too. Thanks
