These boats are rated for 50HP weighing approx 150lb

I want to put on my 65HP weighting approx 200lb...

Has anyone done this before on this boat? How does it handle? any suggestions? comments? concerns?

Juggernaut22us,

No need to make separate posts for your project. Just post to the same one and we'll get to All your questions there. I don't think you'll have any issues with the HP or the weight. But you should be aware that for insurance purposes and liability purposes, anytime a boat is overpowered the insurance can refuse to pay and you can be found to be at fault even if it was the other persons fault. That's what I've been led to believe by my research. Just so you are aware

I didn't know weather to start a new post or include this question my fiberglass projects. Reason being, I'm thinking of just buying a new boat without a motor and puting my 65hp on it...might be just as cost effective and found this Maxum on Craigslist for $850

Oh CARP I thought it was for the other boat!!! MY BAD!!! Disregard. My answer still applies however. Just understand that a $850 boat on CL will prolly nee $2000 worth of work done to it before you can Hang that motor on it.
