Tilt and trim worked fine a week ago. Today I went to trim the motor down and one of the relays just made a clicking noise. Whether I hit the up or down button the same relay clicked while the other stayed silent. I switched the relays around and the same one that clicked before continue to click while the other remained silent. Should one be clicking while the other should be quiet?

try a pair of new relays. they are generic bocsh style N.C. headlight relays. we're talking $5 each from a local auto alarm installer. if problem persists then it is motor or wiring.

ok is it normal for one to click and the other stay silent? because if one is clicking then it gets power. Should the second one be clicking as well I'm going to try to get new relays on it Friday.

in 2w trim wiring only one of two relays will click. but not the same one every time. One for up and one for down. the clicking shows that the electromagnet is pulling on the contacts. It doesn't show that the contacts are working or that the contacts have power. relays are cheap. it costs less to replace them than to try and figure them out. if the replacements don't work then you know it is something else.
