Gentlemen i apologoze for the lengthy response, I was in volved in a shooting at work and was in IA for a week.
So heres the plan. The timing chain is going to be checked. I figure thru Summit racing, i can do the rods, lifter and rockers for around 20$$ a cylinder. Ill do all that thru the weekend and Ill let you know.
As soon as I set the timing i noticed the lash on the rockers. It doesnt sound like a bent rod or valve but my concern is that the little bit of water in the oil killed the bottom end bearings. My friend found me a used 4.3 long block that I can have for free so worst case, the tow truck comes over and lifts the motor out and ill do the whole thing in the garage.
Lets not hope for the last.
