Have a 1989 Striper with a fresh 302 motor which replaces one that was hydro locked. It has a Mando alternator and I am not sure of the wiring. Any help would be appreciated. It also has a short red wire on the back. Where does this go.

I also am worried about the fuel tank. When I pulled the fuel line off of the fuel filter no fuel came out. The fuel guage reads full and the previous owner said he fill it up and put fuel saver in the tank. I have not pulled the swivel seats out to get the fuel tank hatch off to confirm or not, I would think that if I pulled the fuel line off the fuel filter that fuel would come out. Is there a shut off.

Thanks
Jack

there is an anti-siphon valve in the tank. fuel isnt supposed to come out for safety reasons. fuel pump needs to draw it out.

I have just a small red wire on the back side. The pictures of the new mando alternators show also a purple short wire on the back. I assume these are off the regulator.

The back side of the Mando 12176N-1G alternator has a short red wire and a short purple wire. Where do these connect? Ford 302 1989 OMC Cobra.

Thanks
Jack
