I purchased a boat last year that had an 89 Suzuki DT85. It never would get up on plane. I had the carbs built since it didn't wanna idle. I hadn't been able to take it out and finally did. It has the same problem only idles now. I noticed the wires for the water cooling sensor were clipped. I understand that this is a magnetic switch and a buzzer is supposed to sound when the engine is cranked until water gets up in the head. I get no buzzer at all. I understand that if the sensor is tripped it will keep the engine rpm's to 3000. Without having the sensor at all would this have the same effect?

Joe
