1989 vip omc to buy or not to buy

hey everyone i juat wanted to get some advice before buying this 1989 vip the interior is in great shape exterior needs a little buffing out the bad part is the current owner found some water in the oil im not real worried about doing minor repairs on besides a head gasget what else should i be worried about with the water in the oil i told the owner i would not give them over $1250.00 for the boat all imput is needed going to go look at it tomorrow and thanks in advance for any imput on this(motor is a omc 6cyl)

The 1st thing to be worried about is that OMC webt out of biz some time ao and your parts availability is going to be a problem and besides that the availability of tech. assistance is going to be limited @ best most of it here on I Boats so the price might seem decent but the fact that your going to be getting into some possible parts replacement issues would be a run away from this purchace situation.

Water in the oil shouldn't be an issue, the only thing it can destroy is the crank, cam shaft, cylinders, rings, bearings, valves, rods, oil pump, etc.

OMC and water in the oil = free boat at best, maybe even pay you to take it.
