ok i have a pontoon with a 1989 johnson 50 hp outboard model J50PLSSM. It seems to run great except when i try to let it idle in the water it dies and then i have to prim the bulb again. and when i run it very slow when picking up my jug lines. i get a buzzer a few seconds on and a few seconds off. my vro tank is full.i replaced the line and bulb from tank to engine. I have taken it to our only boat repair shop wich is about 65 miles away and they told me that everything seemed fine to them but they do not run the boat in the water. i can run my boat on a hose all day long and it will idle. it seem sto idle fins sometimes and other not so much.any help would be great

Your motor is a 2000 model.---First thing to do is a compression test.-----Then look into that alarm as that is very serious.---Mix gas and oil at 50:1 untill you sort out that alarm.

i pulled the vro out and both diaphrams looked good. had a few fuel lines that were leaking. cleaned everything up and rubed oil on the parts and reinstalled pump. this time i pluged the oiler and disconnected both electrical plugs, and replaced the fuel filter.. now it will suck the primer bulb flat. tonight i pulled the pick up tub out and it looked good. not sure what is going on. the gas tank is above the engine. any help would be great. not sure what else to do. i guess tomorrow i will replace the primmer bulb.

If primer bulb goes fflat there is a blockage between the bulb and tank.
