First post.

I am restoring a Lowe Jon boat. Just looking for some additional information like specifications or even an old manual. Here is the hull identification number:

The boat has some worn out logo's on each side that I can't seem to find on the internet.

Looking for any help I can find. I can post some more pictures. These pictures are from the beginning of the project. Just stalled out waiting on warm weather to paint and finish this up.

Thanks for any help.

You might be able to find some basic info here.

http://boatspecs.iboats.com/

I doubt there is a manual and if there is/was it would provide any pertinent information.

Show us progress on the paint work.

:welcome: Lost River Jones to iboat...

What are your plans for this boat? And if you have serious plans to refurbish this hull, post some pictures for us to see what you are dealing with. Then we can help with ideas and suggestions. JMHO!

Input your HIN here
http://hindecoder.com/

And it'll confirm the year, but not model.

Looks like a tough jon boat transom to replace.

Good luck w your project and seal the oak really well

It looks to me like you'll need to remove a lot more than just the support!!!

Oak would NOT be my first choice. Sealed and Painted Plywood would work a whole lot better IMHO!!!

I've got nothing for the identifying help front,

Posting some better pics showing the corner caps, the outside of the transom hull, and the outside of that top cap would help to verify construction as it is now.

I'm thinking some careful work with a cutoff wheel or grinder will get the corner caps off. Then the cap that went over the wood I think can come off. This will allow the new wood to slide down into place. Some clean up work on the caps and gunwhale rail should then let everything be put back together a bit neater with rivets or SS screws and nuts.

Was thinking the Logo was for Oberon / Bell's but sadly it didn't match.

IMO a PO added a Sun logo or Lowe made the hull for another company to market.
