On this motor there is a place for a screw in temp sensor located on the right head at the top. It is on the left side of the thermostat housing. I believe it uses 1/8 NPT. It enables you to put a temp gauge on the dash.

Now the question. Is anyone familiar with this thing and do you know the part
number?

I can't find it listed on the BRP parts site.

Install a water pressure guage instead, a whole lot safer for the motor. Temp guage IMO is like a idiot light on car, when it shows hot ,its to late.

I do have a pressure gauge installed and it works great. The question was about temperature gauge sending unit part number.

The Tech style guage kit is:175410
The Zephyr guage kit is: 175650
The Concept guage kit is: 175618
All senders mount on a bracket that holds it against head, have never seen one factory or aftermarket that screws in that hole on head.

I have a 1989 225 that has a sensor screwed in to the hole you are talking about.
Sorry, I can't help you with the P/N though.

I think the temp gauge is just as important as the water pressure.
