1990 200hp ocean pro, spark on half bank

Had no spark at all, went on starb side of motor and disconnected the black with yellow tracer and I get spark on starb side only, then went to get food come back then have spark on starb top and bottom with no spark on middle but then have spark on middle of port, did not change anything to make it change. I dont now what to change, power pack or stator. can someone give me a hand please.

im going to change the shift interrupter tomorrow, but then i think i will have spark on all starb but left bank only top, so gonna check stator, cause it comes and goes on left top. Ignition coils are good cause I swap them out.

You need a peak reading meter to find out if its the power pack or stator, although you can visually check the stator for melted insulation.
Marine peak reading meters are always for sale on ebay for $80.

Are you testing with sparkplugs installed or removed? If installed remove them and retest as a weak battery or dragging starter will cause this problem due to ignition design...

Yes, I agree with Fazt...sounds like it is spinning too slow.
And test the shift switch before just shotgunning it. You can disconnect it and re-try. Will not hurt a thing to disconnect it.

well replaced the shift interrupter and found 2 fouled out plugs and neutral safety was shorting out at control box, got her running like a champ.

are you sure it is an Ocean Pro?

I didnt know they made them as early as 1990.

Ocean runner, and i read the date wrong its was 1995. It was really late with a couple beers. LOL Thanks all again
