After rebuilding my 4.3 last year I notice now there is quite a bit of oil in the bilge. It looks like its coming from the stem leading to the oil pressure sensor just behind the intake manifold on the port side of the engine..

Can I just remove this and use some thread sealant or do I need to purchase new gaskets/o-rings?

Ayuh,... It could be the sender connection to the block, so, ya, use pipe dope on the threads,...

It could also be a Bad sender, if so, replace it, 'n use sealant on the threads,...

OK, after diagnosing further, I have identified the leak as coming from the back of the intake manifold, where it meets the block. Its a small leak, but makes a real mess!! What should I do to remedy this?

Ayuh,... Pull the intake, 'n re-gasket it,....

Only this time toss the end pieces, 'n use only rtv silicone,...

Thanks Bond-O, great help as usual :)

It does actually have RTV around the back and front sides......albeit not enough evidently!!

Tip: Clean the bolck and manifold surfaces. place a 1/4 inch thick bead of RTV .
Install manifold and insert all bolts DO NOT TIGHTEN
Wait till RTV cures first, then tighten manifold

Thanks! How long to cure/partially cure? 50% of the total cure time for example?

Ayuh,.... overnight or so,...

I do like BD says, 'n let the stuff "Skin up", 1st, 'n then set the manifold in-place,...
I run the bolts down barely snug, 'n tighten 'em the next day/ time there,...

My normal method is to only use a dab of rtv on each end of the end gaskets and coat the end gaskets themselves with permatex aviation gasket sealant. Not a big fan out of making gaskets from rtv.
