1990 48hp drive shaft gunk

Hi got my lower gearbox off and the spines on the drive shaft part of the shaft is covered in a small film of gunk.
And the tube that the drive shaft goes true as got some exhaust gunk in it
Does that mean that crank shaft bearing seal are done?
Im more of a chain saw Mecanik wanna be then a boat engin guy
Should I be worried?

Sounds good to me but what do I know first outboard I ever heard except a 9.9
It sounds 2 stroke
