My coil was taken off and replaced.I have 12 volts going to both sides of the new coil. Two gray wires carrying 12 volts to the negative side of the coil.Is this wired properly? Shouldnt the negetive side of coil be grounded only? thanks

Depends on how you are measuring it, normally you would have 2 wires coming off the negative side, one goes to the distributor (for the points) and the other goes to the ESA module. If the points are open and the ESA module is not energized then if you apply 12 volts to the plus side you will also read 12 volts on the negative as there is no connection to complete the circuit.
