Water coming from the outlets extremely hot and not a stream, but a heavy sputter. Just replaced the impeller. Someone mentioned to me to remove the thermostat completely and not replacing. Running terrible, can't even register 10 mph after getting 25 last year. Any Ideas....

Definetely the thermostat. The TT water should be only slightly warmer than the cooling supply. The volume is low and as it is very hot you get the "boiling" effect of spluttering. I would change the thermostat as opposed to removing it altogether. Warm up time will dramatically increase when started and fuel efficiency will go down if you don't replace the thermostat.

Good Luck

Liam

The Force 50HP doesn't have a telltale. It only has two exaust ports on the back. And if it is a sputter (like you just told it a funny joke while it had a mouthfull of sea water), consider it to be pumping fine.
Don't run it without a t-stat, as running it without can damage the block or head.

Thanks for the help. I think I will try and replace the t-stat and see how she runs. Can't be much worse than now.

Thanks

8.5
