I have a 1990 Mercury 60 ELPTO that boggs down at a specific point on the throttle when put into gear. It starts fine and idles ok. Once I put in in gear it will run slow OK until I increase the throttle to a point where it boggs and dies. Sometimes I am able to feather the throttle back and and then VERY VERY slowly work my way past the bogg point. If I can sucessfully feather the throttle past the bogg point it runs under load great.

I have done the following: new fuel filter, fuel pump diaphram, carbs rebuilt by dealer, new plugs new gas, stabil in tank, new tank to motor fuel line.

Suggestions???

Carbs would have been my first guess, if you are sure they are clean... I would test for compression and then spark, then timing.

The merc dealer who rebuilt my carbs has agreed to take it back and check them - I sure hope that's the problem. In the future I need to learn how to do the carbs myself as I don't plan on shelling out $400 to get it done ever again.
