Hello all,

Both my tilt and trim leak down badly. On shore tilted all the way up, it takes about 15 seconds for the motor to fall onto the trim ram. And when I'm driving I have to trim up avery 30 secs or so to keep on good plane. This would make me assume that it is a pump/valve issue. So would buying this part as pictured (left pic) solve my problem? Or would I need more parts?

Also, i have heard of people getting this kind of stuff rebuilt at machine shops, but I have no patience and an extrememly short boating season (northern Manitoba)... so a swap out is really the only thing I can do.

I have looked for this question alot on here, and seen quite a few similar ones, so I apologize if this is repetitive. I just want an answer for my own specific problem. Thank you

yep, either will do. The one on the left looks like the Chinese one. IMO, they are not of same quality as the USA ones but on a 90HP it may be many years before the difference shows up. I don't think the Chinese are making them with adjustable spring towers like the picture on the right. If price is equal I would definitely favor the picture on right.

It should fix your bleed down. It could be other stuff but if 100 boats had your problem then 98 of them would be fixed with a new valve body. Your motor is next. Moisture usually starts getting inside motor about same time that bleed down is a problem. You should put new seals on your motor while you have it off boat. Be careful not to crack brushes or brush card. Mercury still sell seals and through bolts.
