This motor runs fine when I 1st get in the water...and will run all day as long as I don't shut it off...but if I do shut it down...it will not restart...the starter spins the motor fine...but there is no fire. I have had this happen twice now...and been towed back to the trailer....and when I get home and connect the water ears...she fired right up....Can someone give me some ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem...

Thanks

Ahoy, AGood1.

When you shut the engine down after a good run the temperatures in the block rise for a while because cooling water is no longer circulating. This causes the parts under the bonnet to reach higher temps than when running.

I suspect that your ignition system has a heat failure under these conditions. Take the bonnet off and crank her up on muffs. Heat the ignition parts with a hair dryer. If I am right the engine will quit when you heat the bad part. . . like a powerpack or trigger.

Good luck. :)

It is under the flywheel, Agood1.

Hard to get heat to. Be real careful. :)

Is the trigger the same as the stator?

My friends 70 did the exact same thing as yours. Replaced the powerpack and it never happened again.
