Last year we bought the boat in late May and just wanted to get it in the water. I spent some time on the old '82 Evinrude but it seems to have been meticulously maintained. It's as clean under the cover and runs as well as a 5 year old model. The only cosmetic change was the side upholstery...it was completely shot so we replaced it, saving only the old piping.

This year with it on the trailer, I was finally able to change it around. My only two complaints about the boat were the portable fuel tanks and the seating arrangement. Those two 6 gallon tanks were replaced by a 19 gallon permanent tank. I also wanted the battery out of the area were the fuel vent was. The back-to-back seats were not only completely rotted, but too low for me to sit while driving and made it impossible to have a conversation with the other occupants.

So here it is new to us but after the sides were reupholstered.

These are the old seats...look nice in the photo but were moldy and rotted.

The carpet was comprised of door mats to cover the rips in the original one. Everything that touched them turned red. (a neighborhood cat had made a hole in the cover and been calling it home...hence the snow on the seat)

Here is a pic after stripping it down (rained that morning). I was expecting to be replacing the floor and maybe the transom, but after some drilling and seeing only dry wood, I was more than pleasantly surprised (with one tiny exception that I fixed)

Basically all I did was recarpet and build a bench to give us some much needed storage. After much reading on this forum, I decided to build the bench out of high grade exterior plywood and pressure treated posts for a frame. I opted not to coat it in glass to keep costs down. After all, it only cost me the plywood and some carpet and my time...if I have to replace it in a few years, it's fine with me. I'll probably regret it at some point, but the boat wasn't expensive to begin with, especially with the vinyl side panels destroyed, so I'm only willing to spend so much money and time on it.

I used the face of the old speedometer gauge for a compass.

The bench top looks a little crooked/warped, but it's not...yet. We'll see how the bench holds up.

Pedestal seats and bench cushion/back are going in this week.

Thanks. I put the seats in today but it was too dark for pics when I finished. I wish I knew how to link Picasa images on here though.

If the images are 640x480 (or smaller) just put the link to each one inside <img> </img> tags. But replace the <> with []. (I can't type them correctly here or it will try to show an image.

In this one, I used the "quote" button on your post, and changed the "url" before and after your links to IMG... you can edit your posts, and change "url" to "img" to do the same...

Before I start, is it possible to display photos on Picasa? Last year we bought the boat in late May and just wanted to get it in the water. Copy the image location (the url) and use the button with the mountains on it...

The opening header is [ IMG] and the closing header is [ /IMG] (without the spaces)... if you have a single charachter out of place, or any other charachters in there it won't post right.. I type in the code, because I have for a while, but the post image button is the easiest way to post them...

I typed in in here, and added the URL tags so teh img code text would be there for you to see..

[IMG]this is how to post a picture[/IMG]

BTW your first post is still showing the URL tags not the image tags... I went back and looked at your post, you are missing the "/" on the closing tag... add it and you pic will show... LOL..EZ edited it as I was posting it...LOL

I just edited your first post. The one you changed wasn't working because you forgot the "/" in the closing img tag. I changed the second one for you as well. I'll let you do the others so you see how to do it.

Thanks a lot for the help. I should have been able to figure that one out since url and quote tags all have the /...oh well. Are the pictures too large?

Okay, I can can easily change the link but I don't think all the quoted links will change with it. It's just a matter of changing a number in the link, but I can't change the other posts.

And I'm sorry this link about our boat turned into a FAQ about posting images.
