My new motor came to me after the previous owner disassembled the lower unit to install a new water pump.
While he had the motor apart, he passed away. So several months later when his wife is clearing the shop. She sells, the boat, the motor, and all the parts she can find. When I get the motor, the wires are unhooked and the lower unit is missing parts.
Thanks to all the good folks on this board. I have the wires back in place, or on thier way. And I have a majority of the lower unit parts on order (I was missing the entire shift linkage and the water pump assembly).
My question, is on all the exploded views. They show a shift lever that connects the shift rod to the lower unit. I have not been able to order this past, but last night I came across a website that indicated this part was not needed on my motor.
Anyone have any insight to this? Under the ishopmarine.com website, it is part 27 on the parts breakdown, but it is not for sale.
Thanks,
