Re: 1990 force 50hp starting after 20-30 cranks

took it out today and followed everyones tip on here to make sure the blub is firm, choke the engine for 5 seconds, put trottle to 3/4 the way and it works. did everything mention on here and motor starts on the first crank. well in the cold it took about 3-5 cranks. but thanks to all that help.

As I mentioned when totally cold, or the first start of the day, most 2 cycle engines need to be choked till they spit, or fire once, then choke off to start, also, usually no more then 1/3rd, to 1/2, throttle is used for starting, for safety reasons.

when i press the choke i hear a click...i hold it there for 5-8 seconds then i try to start the engine right?

before i was holding the key to choke and while still holding i was cranking the motor. and cranking it for about 10 seconds. which way is right to choke the engine?

Push in the key and turn it at the same time.
Once it attempts to start, you can let the key out.

the motor will tell you how long it wants to be choked, some motors need a longer choke... youll get 'er dialed in
