1990 force

Good Morning ; My issue is I have a chance to buy a 1990 force 150 hp that needs to be rebuilt it has a bad piston # 5 . I am running a 120 HP 1999 Force low hrs good runner . But is to small for my 2002 trophy wa . If motor can be purchased cheep like 3-400 $ Would there be a advantage / Improvement ? Concidering rebuild cost . And would I be getting more performance . And would my controls and wiring mach up ? Any help . Thanks Pete

Yo, Pete: I didn't see this thread when I answered on the Force forum. Your 1999 engine uses Mercury ignition and controls. These will not work on the 150. So, if you do buy it, be certain you get the control box, cables, and ignition cable.

Changing these to match the 150 is no big deal, probably an hour or two.
