1990 Gamefisher 3 hp No Spark ???

Simple magento set up with flywheel (w/3 magnets) & coil, when I spin I get no spark. I checked and cleaned what I could no luck. Disconnected ground (kill) wire also. Can I take any measurements or what do I look for, thanks

I believe that is based on the Tanaka TOB-300.If it is a Breaker point ignition.Under flywheel.Points set at .013 At the highest point of the cam.
Be sure they are clean.Air gap between armature legs and flywheel should be .013.I would try a file card so the legs will be equal.There is a tanaka site
but I believe they are out of production.Flywheel may be marked with a T for top dead center and an M to set timing M should line up with match mark on crankcase just as points open.rotate magneto base to set.

No points in this one - I figured it out. You really gotta pull recoil hard and fast to get a spark. I was doing it by hand and with a small rope wrapped around the flywheel, NG

I gave up and started putting it back together and gave it a good pull with the recoil and wow, nice strong spark!
