Glad the pump works.<br /><br />Use a VOM across the battery terminals while engine is running. At idle, you should get at least 13.5 v or more. Fast idle or 1500 RPM or more should yield a reading ~ 14.5 V. A fully charged battery in static condition will read ~ 12.7 v, so you will have a rough idea of where the battery started.<br /><br />For amps, you need an ammeter, but shouldn't be necessary, especially if you measure the battery voltage. You could also use an inductive ammeter, but these are not very reliable, in my opinion.
