Motor had no fire at all. I had the motor running a couple months ago then decided to quit messing with it until the weather warmed up. Went out to crank it this weekend and no spark. The motor is a 1990 Johnson 60hp but it does have the ignition system off a 93 60ho on it which is slightly different since it had quick start. Anyway I feel pretty confident the stator is bad since it has some cracks in the outter shell. I also suspect the timer base. I checked resistance on the stator and timer base this afternoon. Here are the numbers. For reference I was using a Fluke 87V true rms meter.
Timer Base:
W-G: 15m ohms
W-P: 5.5m ohms
W-Bl: 22m ohms
W-BW: 0.67k ohms
Stator:
Br-BY: 0.829k ohms
O-OB: 406 ohms
Any ideas? Also is there anything else I should check?
