Trying to find a part number for an impeller repair kit and a supply source.

Impeller kit is p/n 396725. Complete repair kit (with new housing, impeller etc) is p/n 432955.<br /><br />Any JohnnyRude dealer probably has in stock or can get for you.<br /><br />-John

The 432955 has updated parts in the kit, pressure relief spring , relocation of tattle tale nipple.

I checked quite a few of the parts places on the internet and couldn't find the the complete kit #432955. I only could find #432956. Is this the right kit for a 1990 70hp Johnson O/B?

Yes 432955 IS a Johnson part number and it is the correct p/n. 432956 is an old p/n - it superceded to 432955.<br /><br />If you need help finding a Johnson dealer in your area, go to www.johnson.com and click on "Dealer Locator".<br /><br />-John

John from Illinois, thanks again for the info. Local dealer only had the old part number that has been superceded by #432955. I told him that there was a new part number and he seemed very argumentative. Didn't seem to be very customer friendly so I started wondering. If was important enough for Johnson to come out with a superceded part number why should I pay for the old one? My only concern was that if something had been changed in the kit from the old number to the new one and I found out after purchasing the old one from him that it was highly unlikely that he would take the old one back and get me the new one. I had the feeling that he resented the fact that I new that the part number that he had instock had been superceded. Like I said earlier, he wasn't very customer friendly. I decided to keep looking for the part elsewhere. If it wasn't for the good advice from experienced people on this forum I would have purchased the older part number from him. Thanks for all the help.

Find new dealer. Will recheck numbers today.

I agree w/clanton, find a new dealer. This guy probably has the old p/n in stock & wants to "move" it. The 432955 has all the components to rebuild your water pump AND perform a cooling system modification (if it hasn't been done already. <br /><br />-John<br /><br />BTW, I checked the p/n's here at work this morning, the old p/n is NLA.

432955 is the goood number, just like John said.
