hi all! I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy a temp gauge kit for a 1990 90 hp Johnson model j90tlesb..?
And how difficult is it to install? I would really like to know the water temperature at all times. Thank you in advance!!!

I would think you can get one at most marine stores or web sites. A better choice is a water pressure gauge. It is better to monitor the working of the water pump, and watch it start to fail, than watch a temp gauge for signs of overheating. Motors usually do not overheat gradually over time.

My '98 Johnny V6 shows 30+PSI when the impeller is good and the motor is cruising at 4000RPMs.

If you are going for a temp gauge, you will need to get a matching temp sender. (most gauges do not come with one.) The sender tip will need to be mounted in contact with one of the heads, usually with some type of fabricated "Z" bracket.
